Good news for French citizens planning to visit Vietnam – the Vietnamese National Assembly has recently approved the proposal to amend and supplement several articles of the Law of Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam. The amended law, which will take effect on August 15, 2023, will grant French citizens an extended 90-day visa validity when entering Vietnam, which is a 60-day increase from the current 30-day e-visa limit.
Vietnam is renowned for its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and welcoming people. With the new visa regulations, French citizens will have more time to explore the many attractions the country has to offer, such as the imperial city of Hue, the beaches of Da Nang, the quaint town of Hoi An, and the vibrant capital city of Hanoi. French visitors can also take advantage of Vietnam’s unilateral visa waiver program to enjoy a stay of 45 days visa-free in the country. This visa waiver program is available in certain countries and regions, such as France, and will also be applicable from August 15, 2023.
All French citizens entering Vietnam must obtain an e-visa prior to their visit. The e-visa application process is simple and straightforward. French citizens can apply for an e-visa online via the Vietnam Immigration Department website. They must then wait for approval and pay a fee of 25 USD. Once approved, they will receive an e-visa via email, which they must then present upon arrival in Vietnam.
