Vietnam’s National Assembly has recently approved a proposal to amend and supplement several articles of the Law of Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam. Under the new amendments, the country will extend the validity of e-visas granted to foreigners entering the country to 90 days from no more than 30 days for single entry or multiple entries.
The revised law, which will take effect on August 15, 2023, is expected to make it easier for foreigners to visit and do business in Vietnam. On this note, Vietnam grants e-visas to citizens from 80 countries, including Italy. This means that with the new amendments, Italian citizens can enjoy a 90-day validity period for their e-visa to Vietnam starting August 15, 2023.
Additionally, those hailing from countries and regions eligible for Vietnam’s unilateral visa waiver program, such as Italian citizens, will be able to enjoy a stay of 45 days visa-free in the country from August 15, 2023. This is a huge increase from the previous limit of 15 days.
Vietnam’s e-visa system is both convenient and easy to use. All applicants need to do is fill out an online application form and pay the visa fee. Applicants can expect to receive their e-visa via email within 3 business days.
With the new amendments, Vietnam is now even more attractive as a destination for Italian travelers. The extended e-visa validity period and the increased visa-free period for those eligible for the unilateral visa waiver program are sure to draw in more visitors to the Southeast Asian country.
So, if you’re an Italian citizen planning to travel to Vietnam, take advantage of the extended e-visa validity period and the increased visa-free period starting August 15, 2023!
