Let’s look at the various canyoning activities offered in Dalat:

Abseiling down

The vertical cliff in Dalat is about 18m. Abseiling down this cliff may seem very daunting, but it is interesting and fun. Once you get down into the river, the next activity is to plummet head first down a rock face. It’s quite nerve-racking for first-time natural water sliders. But this activity is quite safe as long as you follow the instructions from your guide.

Cliff Jumping

Cliff jumping in Dalat is a fun-filled challenge that entails taking an 11m free fall into the pool. Though scary and requires a lot of adrenaline to master the courage, cliff jumping is exhilarating. Once down in the water, you conquer all your fears. Dalat has two cliffs, one at 11 meters while the second at 7 meters. With a successful jump from the first cliff, the second one is a piece of cake.

The Washing Machine

The washing machine is a special abseil challenge. The 10m high rappel requires nerves of steel for you to lower yourself down the cliff and hang freely above the strong waterfall. You free yourself and hit a gush of water which will cause you to spin, twirl and turn around violently the way a washing machine does. You then slide down a rock and let go of your rope before getting pushed underwater for seconds and later shot out into a calm swimming hole. This is where you lose your orientation once you hit the water and you have to let go trusting that you’ll be safe.

Canyoning in Dalat is a breath-taking, adrenaline-filled experience that leaves you with lasting happy memories afterward. Imagine spending your day outdoors trekking through the beautiful forested canyon and abseiling down the cliffs, through waterfalls before you plummet head first down a rock waterslide and finally jump off cliffs. Besides having fun canyoning, you also face your fears head-on.
