Vietnam to extend e-visa validity for citizens of Palau to 90 days

Vietnam has announced that it will extend the validity of e-visas for citizens of Palau from the current 30 days to 90 days. This change will come into effect from August 15, 2023, and is expected to attract more tourists from Palau to visit Vietnam.

The e-visa scheme was introduced in 2017 to simplify the visa application process for foreigners visiting Vietnam. The e-visa is an electronic travel document that allows visitors to enter and exit Vietnam for tourism, business, or transit purposes. It is a more convenient and faster way to obtain a visa compared to the traditional visa application process.

Currently, Vietnam offers e-visas to citizens of 80 countries and territories, including Palau. However, the e-visa is only valid for 30 days and allows a single entry. This has been a major inconvenience for tourists who wish to stay in Vietnam for a longer period and explore the country’s diverse culture and scenic beauty.

With the extension of the e-visa validity to 90 days, citizens of Palau can now plan their trips to Vietnam with more flexibility. They can stay in Vietnam for up to three months and make multiple entries during their stay. This will not only save them time and money on border runs but also allow them to experience more of what Vietnam has to offer.

Vietnam is known for its rich history, stunning landscapes, and delicious cuisine. Visitors can explore the bustling cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, immerse themselves in the unique culture of the ethnic minorities in Sapa, or relax on the pristine beaches of Phu Quoc Island. The extended validity of the e-visa will allow visitors to fully experience all of these attractions.

To apply for an e-visa, citizens of Palau can visit the Vietnam Immigration Department’s website and fill out an online application form. They will need to provide their personal information, travel details, and a digital photo of themselves. The application fee is $25, and the processing time is three working days.

In conclusion, Vietnam’s decision to extend the validity of e-visas for citizens of Palau to 90 days is a welcome move that will benefit both tourists and the Vietnamese tourism industry. This update will make it easier for the citizens of Palau to plan their trips to Vietnam, and it will increase the number of visitors to Vietnam in the coming years. So, if you’re a citizen of Palau, start planning your trip to Vietnam today and experience all that this beautiful country has to offer!
