Are you a Norwegian citizen looking to visit Vietnam? Good news! The Vietnamese National Assembly recently approved an amendment to the Law of Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam. Under the amendment, Vietnam will extend the validity of e-visas granted to foreign visitors from Norway from no more than 30 days for single entry or multiple entries to 90 days. This amendment will take effect on August 15, 2023.
Vietnam is currently offering e-visas to citizens of 80 countries and territories, including Norway. With this extended validity, visitors from Norway can now enjoy a more extended stay in Vietnam for either business or leisure. Furthermore, Norwegian citizens hailing from countries and regions that Vietnam offers a unilateral visa waiver program can now enjoy 45 days visa-free in the country from August 15, 2023.
This amendment to the Law of Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam is expected to make it easier for foreigners to visit and do business in Vietnam. The Vietnamese government is looking to attract more foreign visitors and invest in the country’s tourism industry. With this extended e-visa validity, Vietnam is hoping to attract more Norwegian visitors and encourage them to stay longer in the country.
