Good news for Slovak citizens planning to visit Vietnam in the near future: the National Assembly of Vietnam recently approved a law amending and supplementing several articles in the Law on Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, and Residence in Vietnam, granting 90-day e-visa validity for Slovaks from August 15, 2023.
Vietnam currently offers e-visas to citizens of 80 countries and territories, including Slovakia. However, the duration of an e-visa was limited to 30 days before this new amendment. The new 90-day e-visa with multiple entries will allow Slovak citizens to visit Vietnam longer and explore the country more.
The primary reason for the amendment is to meet the needs of international visitors and create favorable conditions for foreigners. Foreigners may wish to visit Vietnam to survey markets or seek and promote investment. At the same time, some may want to visit many countries in the region and return to Vietnam to evaluate and compare the business and investment potential. Therefore, the new 90-day e-visa will enable them to do this more easily.
The new law will also benefit those who wish to stay in Vietnam longer for a variety of reasons, such as leisure travel, medical check-ups, and business negotiations. The extended e-visa validity is expected to boost the country’s tourism industry and attract more foreign investment.
To apply for the 90-day e-visa, Slovak citizens must meet the following requirements: a valid passport, a recent passport-size photograph, and a scanned copy of their passport to complete the e-visa application form online. Applicants will receive their e-visa via email within 3 working days.
