The Vietnamese National Assembly has approved the government’s proposal to amend and supplement several articles of the Law of Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam. This amendment, which will take effect on August 15, 2023, will grant Swedish citizens a 90-day e-visa validity for their visit to Vietnam.
Vietnam currently offers e-visas to citizens of 80 countries and territories, including Sweden, and this new amendment simply adds to the convenience of tourists and business travelers visiting Vietnam. This extension of e-visa validity from 30 days to 90 days will provide Swedish travelers with the flexibility to plan their trips in advance and stay for a longer period of time.
Additionally, foreign visitors hailing from countries and regions eligible for Vietnam’s unilateral visa waiver program will be able to enjoy a stay of 45 days visa-free in the country from August 15, 2023. This means that Swedish citizens from these countries and regions can enjoy an even longer stay in Vietnam without needing to apply for a visa.
