Vietnam to Offer 90-Day E-Visa Validity to Korean Citizens from August 15, 2023

The Vietnamese National Assembly has granted approval for the Amended Law revising several articles of the Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam. Under the amendments, Vietnam will extend the validity of e-visas granted to foreigners entering the country to 90 days from no more than 30 days for single entry or multiple entries. This is great news for Korean citizens, as Vietnam currently offers e-visas to citizens of 80 countries and territories, including the Republic of Korea.

The updated 90-day e-visa validity for Korean citizens in Vietnam is set to take effect on August 15, 2023. This extended validity period for e-visas makes it easier for Koreans to visit and do business in Vietnam. It also offers more flexibility and convenience to Korean citizens planning to stay in Vietnam for a longer period.

Furthermore, foreign visitors hailing from countries and regions eligible for Vietnam’s unilateral visa waiver program, including Korean citizens, could enjoy a stay of 45 days visa-free, surpassing the current limit of 15 days. This offers even more convenience and flexibility to Korean citizens looking to explore Vietnam without the hassle of applying for a visa.

These updates to the Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam are expected to make it easier and more convenient for Korean citizens to visit and do business in Vietnam. The updated 90-day e-visa validity and 45-day visa-free period for Korean citizens will take effect on August 15, 2023. So, if you’re a Korean citizen looking to explore Vietnam, now is the time to start planning your trip!
