Residents of Hong Kong can now enjoy the convenience of a 90-day e-visa when traveling to Vietnam. On June 24th, 2023, the National Assembly of Vietnam approved the Government’s proposal to increase the current 30-day validity of e-visas for foreign travelers to 90 days. This new law will come into effect on August 15th, 2023.
Vietnam currently offers e-visas to citizens of 80 countries and territories, including Hong Kong. The introduction of longer-term visas for foreign visitors will help attract more travelers and tourists to Vietnam and foreign investments and business opportunities. This will also provide a great boost for the country’s socio-economic development and its tourism industry.
With the new 90-day e-visa, Hong Kong citizens will be able to enter and exit Vietnam multiple times during the validity period without having to apply for a new visa. This makes it much more convenient for travelers to plan extended stays in the country and explore more of the country’s many attractions.
The Vietnamese government has also announced that the online visa application process has been simplified, so travelers from Hong Kong can now easily apply for a visa without leaving their home. All that is required is to complete the online application form and pay the application fee.
For travelers who would like to stay in Vietnam for longer than 90 days, they can apply for a visa extension for up to six months. Extensions can be applied for at any Vietnam Immigration Office or online.
Hong Kong citizens can now look forward to a more relaxed and convenient travel experience when visiting Vietnam. With the longer-term e-visa, foreign travelers can stay in the country for a longer period of time and explore all that the country has to offer.
