The best ice-cream shops in Ho Chi Minh City

The weather in Ho Chi Minh City is almost always sunny and warm. That’s one of the reasons why so many people love to travel here and some even end up staying for a much longer time. There’s a lot going on in the biggest city of Vietnam. The best way to explore the city is by foot, but if the heat is too much for you, there’s plenty of public transportation options such as motorbike taxis.

3. Osterberg Ice Cream

Want to try ice cream flavors from all over the world? Head over to the Thao Dien neighbourhood and go for an Osterberg Ice Cream. It’s Danish owned and has a wide range of flavors that will make you come back again and again. There’s simply so much to try! If you’re allergic to diary or you’re on a vegan diet, there’s plenty of dairy and sugar-free options here too. And the taste is just as good, sometimes even better, than the regular ones.

4. La Dolce Vita

Everyone knows that Italian gelato is one of the best in the world and now you can find it in Ho Chi Minh City! The ice cream parlour is owned by a Sicilian expat who decided he wanted to bring italian gelato to the big city. If you’re a big ice cream fan, you must visit La Dolce Vita. Try their ca phe sua da gelato, which is their Vietnamese coffee flavored ice-cream that will knock your socks off.

5. Kem Nhan Chu Tam

Probably one of the cheapest places in Ho Chi Minh city for ice cream, this lovely family-owned ice cream parlour offers more fruity flavors such as soursop, longan and coconut. Every scoop is served with crushed peanuts and a hidden longan berry, which might take you by surprise at first. The ice cream here is refreshing, tasty, with a wide range of flavors that you can try. Delicious!

6. Roseice Saigon

The trendy ice cream roses has taken over the world and now everyone wants their ice cream to look like a work of art. Luckily, you can also get a beautiful rose shaped ice-cream in Ho Chi Minh City. Make your way to Roseice to get both a delicious ice cream and a beautiful one. But hurry – take a photo of it before it melts away! The cute, little parlour is a very popular spot amongst the younger crowd and you’ll know you’ve come to the right place when you see the queues.

Before flying to Vietnam, make sure that you apply for a Vietnam visa in order to enter the country. This is required by all who is not on the visa exempt list. You can do it either online, which is the most preferred option by travelers, or go to your nearest Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate. If you choose the online option, you can apply for either a Visa on Arrival or the E-Visa. Please note that the latter is only eligible for certain countries.
