Good news for the citizens of Switzerland! The Vietnamese National Assembly has granted approval to extend the validity of e-visas for foreigners entering Vietnam from one month to three months. This means that the citizens of Switzerland are now eligible to receive a 90-day e-visa to enter Vietnam, starting from August 15, 2023.
Currently, the Vietnam Immigration Department issues single-entry 30-day e-visas to citizens of 80 countries and territories, including Switzerland, through its electronic system. With the amendments in the law, the validity of e-visas granted to foreigners entering the country has been increased to 90 days from no more than 30 days for single entry or multiple entries.
This move is expected to make it easier for foreigners to visit and do business in Vietnam. The citizens of Switzerland can now enjoy a stay in Vietnam for a maximum period of three months, with the convenience of an e-visa. A single-entry e-visa will cost approximately US$25 and can be applied for directly online.
The citizens of Switzerland can avail of the 90-day e-visa by providing the required documents and information online. These include personal information, a scanned passport copy, and a recently taken portrait photo. After submitting the documents, the applicants can track the status of their application and receive the e-visa via email.
