As of April 15, 2026, a digital pre-arrival declaration (QR code) is mandatory for all travelers entering via Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN).
- ⏱️ Must be completed within 72 hours before arrival.
- ❌ No paper arrival cards are accepted.
- ✈️ Airlines may deny boarding without this QR code.

Digital Documents Needed
Clear .jpeg of the bio-data page. All 4 corners must be visible. No glare. Must be valid for 6+ months.
Recent color photo. White background only. No glasses. Ears must be visible.
Credit or debit card to pay the service fee and government fee.
Know your exact entry/exit ports. Cannot be changed once visa is issued.
Filling the Form
- Apply via Agency Portal: Use the simplified agency portal for easier processing: vietnam-visa.in/apply-vietnam-visa/ (Supports Chinese/English).
- Upload Media: Upload your prepared passport scan and ID photo.
- Data Entry Tip: Enter your name EXACTLY as it appears in the MRZ (the two lines of code at the very bottom of your passport photo page). Canadian names often cause errors here.
- Save Registration Code: Before payment, you will receive a code. Save this! It is required to check your status later.
- Payment: Pay the fee. Processing takes 3-5 working days.
Printing & Entry
Mandatory: Print a Physical Copy
Do not rely on showing a PDF on your phone. Border agents frequently reject digital copies, sending travelers to the back of the line to find a printer.
- Check the year on the visa carefully. Flights arriving before midnight of your start date will be held in transit.
- Present printed visa, passport, and (if entering SGN) your Digital Arrival QR code at immigration.
