Visa Exemption Agreement Between Vietnam – Singapore

According to the Exchange of Notes, effective from May 10, 1997:

  • Vietnam exempts visas for Singaporean citizens holding diplomatic passports or official passports with a temporary residence period of no more than 90 days or throughout the official working term for those who are members of the Diplomatic missions, consular offices, and family members of such persons.
  • Singapore exempts visas for Vietnamese citizens holding diplomatic passports and official passports.

Visa exemption on the basis of reciprocity: Singapore exempts visas for Vietnamese citizens from November 10, 2003, and Vietnam exempts visas for Singaporean citizens from November 1 December 2003:

  • Visa exemption for ordinary passport holders, temporary stay not exceeding 30 days, provided the passport is valid for at least 6 months and has a return ticket or ticket to another country, and has financial capacity to pay during the temporary stay and have all the necessary conditions to travel to another country, including a visa. Visa exemption does not apply to people entering the country to work for income.
