Good news to Russian citizens wanting to visit Vietnam – the National Assembly of Vietnam has approved amendments to the Law of Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam, which grants extended visa validity for Russians from August 15, 2023.
Currently, Vietnam offers e-visas to citizens of 80 countries and territories, including Russia. However, the validity of e-visas granted to foreigners entering the country was limited to no more than 30 days for a single entry. As part of the amendments to the Law of Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam, Vietnam will extend the validity of e-visas granted to Russians to 90 days for multiple entries from August 15, 2023.
This extended ee-visa validity period provides an added incentive to foreign visitors, especially Russians, to visit and do business in Vietnam. The extended visa validity period of 90 days enables Russians to have more time to explore the beautiful country with its diverse attractions. They can experience a range of activities such as kayaking in Halong Bay, admiring the colonial architecture of Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City, or take part in the festivities of the Hue Festival or the Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon.
Additionally, foreign visitors hailing from countries and regions that Vietnam offers a unilateral visa waiver program will be able to enjoy a stay of 45 days visa-free in the country from August 15, 2023. This applies to visitors from countries such as Russia, Belarus, Japan…..
The amended Law of Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam is expected to take effect from August 15, 2023, and is a welcome move for foreign visitors to Vietnam. With the extended visa validity period of 90 days from August 15, 2023, Russian citizens will be able to stay longer and enjoy the many attractions that Vietnam has to offer.
