Vietnam has recently announced an important update to its e-visa system. The National Assembly of Vietnam has approved a law amending and supplementing several articles in the Law on Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, and Residence in Vietnam. This law will extend the duration of an e-visa from 30 days to 90 days, valid for multiple entries.
Currently, Americans can apply for an e-visa to visit Vietnam. This e-visa is valid for 30 days, and can be extended for another 30 days for an additional fee. Starting in 2023, however, Americans will be able to apply for an e-visa with 90-day validity. This e-visa will be valid for multiple entries, so travelers can come and go from Vietnam as many times as they like within the 90-day period.
This change will be beneficial for many travelers, especially those who wish to visit Vietnam to survey markets or seek and promote investment. It will also make it easier for travelers who wish to visit many countries in the region and return to Vietnam to evaluate and compare their business and investment potential.
Vietnam currently offers e-visas to citizens of 80 countries and territories, including the United States. To apply for an e-visa, Americans must fill out an online application form and submit the necessary documents. The application should take no more than three days to process.
