The entry permit is a new concept for foreigners visiting Vietnam. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the entry permit is not a requirement for entry to Vietnam. So what exactly is a Vietnam entry permit?
The entry permit, also known as the Vietnam entry approval or expert visa approval letter, is a special permit that the Vietnam Immigration Department will issue, allowing the foreign visitor to enter Vietnam during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic. All foreigners who plan to visit Vietnam during this pandemic season are required to apply for an entry permit. Even those who are holding a residence card or valid Vietnam visas are required to obtain an entry permit before they can be allowed to enter the country.
The Vietnam entry permit will contain the following details:
👉 Personal information of the traveler, such as complete name and passport details.
👉 Information of the sponsor company, if there is one.
👉 Approved entry and exit date.
👉 The place where the Vietnam visa was issued, such as a Vietnam embassy or consulate in a foreign country.

How Long Will It Take to Receive the Vietnam Entry Permit?
The normal processing time of the Vietnam entry permit is three working days. But this will depend on the number of applications that the Vietnam Immigration Department will receive. Those who need to enter Vietnam as soon as possible can ask help from an agency to expedite their request. Some agencies can get the entry permit approved within the day, but this will come with additional fees.
