What is Vietnam e-Visa?
Vietnam e-visa for Irish citizens is an online visa approval process available to the citizens of Ireland. Payment and delivery of the e-visa is done entirely online, and could take up to 3-4 days for approval.
Difference between e-visa and visa on arrival
Visa on Arrival is applied after the Irish citizen arrives at any of the international checkout points of Vietnam. You will have to present the officials with required documents and fees at the dedicated counters at the airport. E-visa is generated online at any Vietnam’s e-visa site. You will have to pay the fees online and upload the necessary documents. You will receive your e-visa through email.
How long to stay with an e-visa?
Irish citizens can apply for single entry visa and multiple entry visas for Vietnam. An e-visa only allows for a single entry (for tourism or business purpose) with the maximum of 30-day stay. For visa on arrival, you can stay as long as for 30-90 days with single and multiple visits included for both tourism and business purpose.
Vietnam e-visa extensionÂ
Once your 30-day e-visa expires, you will have to exit the country and reapply again. If you don’t want to leave the country, you should contact a travel agency. With sponsoring or guaranteeing from them, you can extend your e-visa without leaving the country. It takes around 1 week to get your e-visa extension without leaving the country.
