Common Asks About Vietnam e-Visa for Japanese Citizens

What is Vietnam e-Visa?

Vietnam e-visa for Japanese citizens is an online visa approval process, where everything from payment to delivery of the visa is done entirely online, and probably takes 3-4 business days.

Difference between e-visa and visa on arrival

Visa on Arrival is the process that involves applying for a Vietnam visa after arriving at any of the international checkout points of Vietnam. You will have to present the officials with required documents and fees in order to travel Vietnam. However, you can generate an e-visa online from various online portals. You will have to pay the fees online and upload the necessary documents. You will receive your e-visa through email.

Number of days of stay

Japanese citizens are allowed a 14-day exemption, after that they will need permit. They apply for single entry visa and multiple entry visas for Vietnam. If you apply for e-visa only, you will only get single entry privileges (for tourism or business purpose) with the maximum of 1-month stay. For visa on arrival, your stay gets extended to 30-90 days with both single and multiple visit privileges.

Reapplication when expired

Once your e-visa expires, you will have to exit the country and reapply for new e-visa application to come back Vietnam. Please email to info@vietnamimmigration.com chat support online if you want to get your visa extended without leaving the country.
