After downloading your e-visa, it’s time to fly to Vietnam. If possible, print two copies of the visa so you will have a spare copy. Show the e-visa to the immigration officer when passing through the passport control of Vietnam’s airport.
Although the process of applying for a Vietnam e-visa is easy, it’s important that you do it the right way. Or else, your visa application could be denied. Worse, you might not be allowed to enter the country. Therefore, double-check everything before you submit the form.
If, for instance, you realized later on that you have entered the incorrect information, email the Vietnam Immigration immediately. That way, they can rectify your visa to avoid any problems. Remember, you will be asked to present your passport at the immigration along with your e-visa. They will compare the details on your visa to that of your passport. So be very careful with entering your passport number and expiration date.
If you are traveling with your kids and they already have their own passports, apply separate e-visa for them. But if your kids share a passport with you, then you can share the e-visa as well.
As mentioned, the e-visa is a single-entry visa with a validity of 30 days. If you are planning to stay in the country for longer than 30 days, you should choose a different visa. You can perhaps apply for the Vietnam Visa on Arrival – this is a multiple entry visa that will allow you to stay in the country for up to 90 days. But for the visa on arrival, be prepared to queue at the visa counter when you arrive from your flight. It could sometimes take a while before you can be given your visa especially during the busy season.
