* Chinese e-Passport (passport with nine dash line map) are NOT accepted for applying Vietnam e-visa. Chinese e-Passport number is usually begins with letter “E”. Chinese e-Passport holders are advised to apply for visa at the embassy or apply for Visa On Arrival. Chinese Passports (Old type) with passport number begin with letter “G” are OK for applying Vietnam e-Visa.

** Hong Kong’s new version passport (passport number begins with letter “H”) AND Hong Kong Document of Identity for Visa Purposes (HKDI) [香港特別行政區簽證身份書] – passport number begins with letter “D” are NOT accepted for applying e-visa. We hope it will be accepted soon. Now, you can apply for Visa On Arrival or apply for a visa at the embassy.

*** British National oversea (BNO) passport holders are NOT accepted for applying e-visa. You are advised to apply for Visa On Arrival or apply for a visa at the embassy.

Where Can I Apply for the Vietnam e-Visa?

There’s no need to visit a Vietnam consulate or embassy for your e-visa application. Everything is done online and all it requires is for you to fill out the form. How Long Is the Vietnam E-visa Valid for?

The e-visa of Vietnam will let you stay in the country for a maximum of 30 days. It’s a single entry. If you plan to stay in Vietnam for more than 30 days, you are advised to choose visa on arrival for getting 3-month or 6-month visa.

What Are The Requirements For Vietnam E-visa?

Before you apply for the Vietnam e-visa, it’s important to ensure that you’ve got all the needed requirements:

👉 Please make sure you are citizens of countries that are eligible for Vietnam e-visa.

👉 Passport at least six months of validity from your entry date to Vietnam with 2 blank pages.

👉 Scanned copy of your passport’s biographical page that shows a clear photo of your face and personal information. Sample for passport’s bio page.

👉 Your recently taken portrait (Photo guide) that you need to submit online.

👉 Credit card or debit card to pay the e-visa application and processing fee.

👉 Valid email address for the e-visa copy to be sent.

When Should You Apply for a Vietnam E-visa?

The standard processing time of the e-visa is 3-5 business days. However, there are instances when this will be delayed. This is especially the case if you’re applying during the holidays where most of the government offices are closed. To avoid any delays, it’s highly recommended that you apply for the visa at least two weeks before your trip.

But if you need to leave for Vietnam in a few days and you need the visa ASAP, you can choose the rush option for the processing. It will cost more but you’ll get your visa within 24 hours.

What Information Will Be Asked When Applying for the Vietnam e-Visa?

When applying for the Vietnam e-visa, you will be asked to enter your personal information. This includes your complete name, date of birth, nationality, and some relevant details from your passport. So before you start with your online application, it is best to have your passport beside you.

How to use the E-visa to enter Vietnam ?

How the Vietnam e-Visa looks like?

Vietnam e-visa is issued by Vietnam Immigration Department. It contains your personal information (Name, DOB, Nationality, Passport number) with travel plan (estimated entry and exit date, port of entry and exit). Please make sure all these information are in the same as in your passport, in case one of them is incorrect, you are not allowed to enter Vietnam.

How To Use the E-visa to Enter Vietnam?

Once you have your e-visa available, you’ll receive an email to inform you of this. Click on the link from your email and follow the instructions on how to download the e-visa. Once you have downloaded the visa, save copies on your device. Also, print at least two copies so you’ll have a spare copy.

When you arrive in checking point of Vietnam, go directly to passport control. Give the officer your passport and also your e-visa copy. The officer will verify your visa through your passport. When everything is good, he will stamp it so you can enter Vietnam.
