All About Quy Nhon
Most tourists who are heading to Vietnam for a beach holiday would either go to Nha Trang or Phu Quoc. Only a few would venture to Quy Nhon, a beautiful paradise in Binh Dinh Province. Aside from the gorgeous beaches, the city is also surrounded by lush mountains and picturesque islands. It’s also a great place to visit to sample the most affordable and freshest seafood. Despite its picturesque views, Quy Nhon is not yet overtaken by resort developments and throngs of tourists, although it won’t be long before people will start discovering this hidden gem.
Quy Nhon is about 700 km. away from the city of Ho Chi Minh. The fastest and most convenient way to reach the city is by flying from the major airports of Vietnam. There are several daily flights that arrive at Phu Cat airport, which is around 30 km. away from the city center. You can either take a taxi or airport bus going to the city center.
There are also trains that travel to Quy Nhon coming from Ho Chi Minh. You can take the train from Dieu Tri station and the travel time is 10 – 12 hours. There are also buses that travel from Ho Chi Minh to the coastal city and is usually the cheapest option, however, it’s also the longest and could take up to 14 hours or more!

- Soak up the beautiful sunrise views at Eo Gio – enjoy the stunning sunrise views at Eo Gio, a curve shoreline that’s about 20 km. away from the city center. As you head to Eo Gio coming from the city, you’ll be passing by the Thi Nai Bridge, said to be the longest in the area so take time to explore the bridge as well.
- Swim at Ky Co beach – as a popular beach destination, your trip to Quy Nhon should include a visit to the beach. The most popular beach in the city is Ky Co and is dubbed the “Maldives of Vietnam.” The beach is about 25 km. away from the city and the best way to get there is by taking a boat or canoe.
- Relax at the beach cafes – if you’re a foodie, make sure you visit one of the beachside cafes to sample the finest seafood dishes. The Bánh xèo or shrimp pancake is truly worth a try. Pair it up with a local beer and grab a seat at one of the tables that opens up to the stunning views of the beach.

Getting Around Quy Nhon

As you can see, there are lots of things to keep you entertained during your holiday in Quy Nhon. The best way to explore the city is through a motorbike, which you can rent for about $5 per day. However, you need to have a driver’s license to drive in Vietnam and an ID or passport is required before you can be allowed to rent.
For those who can’t drive, you can hire a motorbike taxi driven by a local who can also serve as your guide. There are also local travel agencies that offer tour packages all over the city. You can also choose to hire a car with driver if you want a more comfortable way of going around the city. Some hotels and resorts in Quy Nhon would also offer complimentary tours and shuttle buses that you can take advantage.
