The city of Hoi An oozes charm and beauty, and provides visitors a peaceful setting where you can relax and unwind. You can walk around the Old Town and admire the architecture, eat the “world’s best banh mi” according to Anthony Bourdain, shop souvenirs to bring back home and also practice yoga. There’s in fact plenty of yoga studios here so whether you’re a beginner or have been practising for a longer time, you’ll have lots of options. What’s also so lovely about Hoi An too is that it’s close to the beach, so you might even get the opportunity to practice yoga on the beach.
Yoga is a great way to begin the day. If you’ve been feeling stressed out lately, you’ve been having back pains from carrying a heavy backpack or you just feel like you need to relax and get away from the loud street noises, you should practice yoga. Even though Hoi An might not be on the top lists of popular yoga destinations (such as Bali and India for example), you will find that Hoi An can still offer you just as much, and maybe even more. Let’s check out some yoga studios in Hoi An and where you can find them.
1. Nomad Yoga

Before yoga became popular in Hoi An, there was Nomad Yoga. It’s in fact, first yoga centre in Hoi An, offering a variety of different classes for people of all experience and skill levels. They usually lasts up to 75 minutes and are offered six days per week, up to five times a day. You can practice meditation here too, and healing therapy sessions, spa treatments and workshops are also offered at Nomad Yoga. If you want to take yoga classes, they offer vinyasa, ashtanga, hatha and yin yoga. When you feel hungry, you can always go to their vegetarian restaurant and café and enjoy a hearty meals with fellow yogis.
2. Annen Yoga & Vegetarian
Address: 471/7 Cua Dai
As with Nomad Yoga, they also have a vegetarian restaurant in addition to their yoga studio. Their yoga classes are held next to the outdoor patio café, tucked away from the noise from the main road. It’s the perfect place if you’re craving silence. It’s a very popular place so make sure to either make a reservation before or call Jyoti, the teacher, to see if the classes are fully booked. The classes lasts about 90 minutes and the classes are suitable for all levels.
3. Superfit Hoi An Fitness & Yoga

As the name says, it’s a fitness and yoga studio, which means there’s excellent gym facilities here as well as several workout classes, including yoga. The good thing about the gym is that it’s usually never too crowded, which means that you’ll have many of the workout machines and weights to yourself. You can also take Zumba, HIIT workouts and Abs class, which rotates on a weekly schedule.
4. Aerial Yoga by Avi

If you don’t mind venturing a bit outside of Hoi An to attend a yoga class, you have to meet Avi. Aerial yoga might not be for everyone, but you have to try it to know it. Aerial yoga is a mixture of aerial arts and yoga. The classes are usually held by the beach, so you can both see the sunrise and do aerial yoga at the same time. It makes for quite an unforgettable memory. The classes are also held in English and the teacher is very observant and will give you lots of feedback. 5. Cham Yoga

Cham Yoga is a small yoga studio and only provides classes in Vietnamese. If you want to get a local Vietnamese yoga experience, this is the place for you. It’s also one of the most budget-friendly studios in Hoi An. It might be a bit tricky to find to this place, since it’s in a residential area, but it’s easily accessibleby moped or bike. The classes run an hour long and is offered two times per day. Email the teacher at email@example.com before to check which classes are being taught the day you want to go and if it’s full or not. The owner and teacher speaks very good English so you can also call on the phone.
