The Six Senses chain prides itself on locating remote yet assessable destinations in areas of incomparable natural beauty. Con Dao Island is just such a place. Set on a mile-long crescent of a majestic beach, with a backdrop of the Lo Voi mountains, draped in a verdant rainforest, this is a location that easily brings the word paradise to mind. Considered to be one of Vietnam’s premier beaches it is composed of gray colored sand which feels like walking on freshly picked cotton. As there are no neighbors nearby, the resort’s guests have the entire beach to themselves making sunrise walks all the more special. These placid waters are part of a giant National Park and are only shared with the resorts guests by local fisherman.
The resorts contemporary design spills over into the 50 incredible villas, lending them a feeling of comfort and class. All the villas are built from locally sourced teak and antique carved wooden panels obtained from old Vietnamese homes, projecting a feeling of comfort and warmth.
The villas range in style from single level to duplex, offering one, three and four spacious bedrooms. The beachside villas are set in two rows with only the front row having a direct beach view and access. Villas located on the small hill above the beach are dual leveled and include a large second floor view terrace which faces out toward the beautiful East Vietnam Sea. A raised king-sized bed is covered with extremely comfortable fine point sheets. Included on the second floor is a walk-in closet, an ensuite toilet and a flat screen TV complete with Bose Surround Sound speakers as well as a well-stocked minibar.
The ground floor is where the spacious open plan bathroom is located. This includes his and hers vanity basins, a large bathtub and an outdoor shower. In the front of the ground floor is the private infinity-edged swimming pool complete with sun deck and lounges.
